President & CEO
Dr. Dennis Shomko is a strategic architect of complex, cross-border transactions with over 25 years of experience at the intersection of international finance, aerospace, and technology. Posted to Tokyo in 2025 to head Ad Astra Capital KK, Dr. Shomko specializes in navigating the "Trust Wall"—the cultural and procedural barriers, risk aversion, and regulatory complexity—that often separate global capital from technical innovation.
While possessing deep technical knowledge in Aerospace Project Management, this expertise is a complementary asset to his primary focus on Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Legislation, and Cross-Border Restructuring. Dr. Shomko is renowned for designing creative, out-of-the-box solutions for transactions involving multiple international stakeholders, sovereign authorities, and export credit agencies (ECAs).

● Creative Financial Engineering: Orchestrated a landmark $2.4 billion debt restructuring and business transfer for Boeing Sea Launch, an achievement that earned the M&A Turnaround Cross-Border Deal of the Year award.

Dr. Shomko holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Swiss Business School focused on international aerospace finance and an MBA from Kent Business School. His academic credentials are supplemented by specialized training in Aviation at Cranfield University and advanced corporate finance studies at London Business School.
Prior to his current posting to the Tokyo head office, he completed advanced management and law programs at Waseda University and the Tokyo Institute of Technology, ensuring he is deeply rooted in the strategic and regulatory landscape of Japan. He is an author of research papers and a holder of International Patents in the field of Aerospace Technology Management.

Tomoyuki Kozuke
Senior Operations Manager

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Schlechtriem is a globally recognized authority in aerospace engineering and space propulsion. Since 2009, he has served as the Director of the DLR Institute of Space Propulsion at the German Aerospace Center, where he leads Europe’s premier research and testing facility for liquid-chemical rocket engines. Additionally, he holds the Chair for Chemical Space Propulsion at the University of Stuttgart.
